| It has been a wonderful weekend. Saturday was just a perfect November day. It was sunny with a high in the mid 50's and hardly any wind. After I watched my Cowboys dismantle the Baylor Bears, I guess more like slaughter them, I took a country drive. I set out driving up Highway 50. I drove up to Florence, then shot up to Marion and then across to Hillsboro. I stopped in and visited with Scott and Alysia, a couple high school classmates that got married a year ago summer. It was good to visit with them about how our jobs were going and how some of our classmates were doing. I don't talk to them, much less see them as much as I should even though it is just a 25 min drive up there. It was good to get out of the house. On my drive, I noticed that most of the fall crops have been harvested. I'm sure there are still a few stragglers out there. There was some field work being done. Thats one thing I missed out on this summer was doing some tractor driving. The one weekend I had a chance to do some, it rained while I was at home. Aww, yes, I miss being on and around the farm. It is officially 11 days until Thanksgiving. Who is excited? I am, of course. How can you resist such awesome food? I had my first Thanksgiving dinner today. After the morning service today at church, they had a Harvest Dinner. We had turkey, mashed taters and gravy. It was delicious. I can't wait to get home for Thanksgiving. We are going to fry a turkey. I'm excited. One thing I will miss is the annual Thanksgiving dinner back at OSU. The friends I ran around with would fry a turkey and have mashed taters. Everyone else that came would bring a side dish. It was a good time had by all. Good friends and good fellowship. If you haven't seen the movie "Cars," I highly recommend that you do. It is an awesome movie. So is "Over The Hedge." Both will definitely make you laugh. Anyway, I guess thats all for now. Hope ya'll have a great week. I'll catch ya down the road | | |
| Wow....it really has been awhile since I've posted. A lot has happened since then. I was home for Labor Day weekend. It was good to be home. Spent time with my parents and sister. I also got to spend some time with my cousins. Was hoping to do some tractor driving, but rain spoiled my plans. I didn't mind, the rain was sure welcome. Worked for a couple weeks and then took some vacation. Helped the guy I went on harvest with fall harvest. I did a little of everything. Cut a little milo, a little corn, and some soybeans. Here are a few pics of corn harvest.
Didn't get any pictures of milo or soybean harvest, but I was hoping to get another opportunity. So far, I haven't. My job, my job....where to start. I'm getting to the point I'm about fed up with it. Its frustrating not being able to do what your trained to do. I have my engineering degree and I'm working more of a mechanics job. There are some openings in the engineering department. I have interviewed for a couple of the vacancies. Now I just have to wait and see what happens. I hope there will be an offer. I just have to be patient. So, I have gotten involved with the Church I have been attending. We moved into a new sanctuary at the beginning of August and with that came a new sound system. They asked for volunteers to learn the new system at the beginning of the summer. I quickly volunteered since I had been involved with my Church back home. This last Sunday was my Sunday to "man the ship" so to speak. Everytime I run the sound board, I get so many wonderful comments on the way it sounded. I just thank God for the ability to mix musicians as well as vocalists and make them sound really good. My OSU Cowboys are having a good year, so far. After giving a game away a week ago, and then digging a 17 point hole this last week, they stepped up on both sides of the ball for an impressive win. The offense is explosive. The defense still has some work, but a years worth of experience would be priceless right now. We should make a bowl game this year. Look out next year though. Just a quick update....hope everything is going well.
| As I sit here listening to the crickets chirp, I'm reminded of last night. I was just about asleep when my roommate who had been asleep since 5 yesterday evening came down the stairs to get something to eat. He then watched a little t.v. It wasn't very loud but I could still hear it. You may be asking yourself what crickets have to do with it. While all this was going on, a cricket start chirping as well. I was not a happy camper. I must have fallen asleep pretty quick after it all happened. I felt pretty good this morning, so it didn't affect me to much.
Here is a question for all those that have dishwashers. Do you wait until you have a full load to run the dishwasher or run it even though it is only half full. Me, I like to wait until it is full. I guess I get that from my mom. She always waits until the dishwasher is full. I mean rearranging everything to make the rest of the dishes in the sink fit. But our dishwasher seems to get run when it is half full or less. It just flat out bugs me.
And finally, my tools. I don't mind them being borrowed if they asked. But there are times when I need a tool that is being used by someone else. I just have to do something else until I get that specific tool back. Sometimes it is just a few minutes. Other times it could be an hour. I've said something a few times, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Oh well, one day I will be out of there. I'm looking forward to that day.
Half way through the week and then a long weekend. I can't wait to go home for a few days. Thats all for now.

| I'd like to thank everyone that has prayed for my grandpa. He is doing much, much better. He was released from the hospital Thursday afternoon and is staying with his sister in Thomas. He will be there until after Labor Day. He goes back to the doctor around the 15th of September. I'll get to see him this weekend. It all sounds like he'll be back to normal in no time.
I've got another prayer request though. My sister is having a hard time adjusting to dorm life. Most of it is the fact that her roommate skipped out on her at the last minute. She has a couple possibilities at getting a roommate soon. I'd appreciate it if you would keep her in your prayers.
I'm starting to get my foot in the engineering door at AGCO. I talked to a guy at church today that said they had approval to start hiring and filling open positions. And get this...his name was Howard Cunningham. When he first introduced himself, I thought back to the show Happy Days. I got a kick out of it, but I won't forget his name anytime soon. I hope I can talk to a few enineers this week and hopefully get an interview in the near future.
Just a quick update this time. Maybe some more thoughts on life next time. Peace
| Just a quick update on my grandpa....
I talked to my mom last night and he is doing better. When they got to the hospital yesterday morning, he was sitting up in a chair. After lunch, they had him up and walking. All it consisted of is bascially walking out of his room, into the hall, and back to his bed. That pretty much wore him out. He is still pretty sore. He is being a good patient and doing all that is asked of him from the doctors and nurses. They want him to cough regularly so he doesn't catch pneumonia. As of last night he was still in ICU, but I think today they were going to move him to a private room. If not, it will be tomorrow. It is a possibility that he will be released at the end of the week. I would like to thank everyone for their prayers and continued support at this time. It is a blessing that his heart attack wasn't much worse than it was. I will keep everyone posted. Thanks again.
